Helping your place become Climate Ready - new adaptation resources and tools published
Adaptation Scotland has published a new set of tools and resources for those working on adaptation to improve resilience to climate impacts in their place. They are aimed mainly at community groups and the third sector (such as those involved in Community Planning Partnerships, Community Councils or Community Land Trusts), but it is hoped they will be of interest and use to a wide range of people and partners.
They are simple ‘how to-s’ for sessions to, for example:
- Introduce climate adaptation through an ‘Adaptation Whirlwind’ presentation
- Identify who needs to be involved with our Stakeholder and Power Mapping template and workshop outline
- Explore lived experience of climate impacts through a Participatory Mapping approach and Climate Impact Interviews
- Think more creatively about climate impacts and how to adapt through the use of Adaptation Personas
Adaptation Scotland has found these useful for working with our place-based partners, particularly in our Localities and Outer Hebrides partnerships and we hope they can help to inform climate ready planning and action in other places.
They are not intended to be definitive – feel free to adapt them to your own place and context, but please credit Adaptation Scotland as the source of the information when used in presentations, publications or any other outputs. We’d also love to hear how you use these tools and resources, and any feedback you have to make them better, so please do get in touch at adaptationscotland@sniffer.org.uk!
